Meet Jenny Cianciolo, Therapist. “The Pat’s Place CAC model delivers the ultimate continuity of care for children and their families,” Jenny says. “They are able to develop positive, ongoing relationships by continuing to return to Pat’s Place for therapy after their initial forensic interview and medical exam. The safe, child friendly environment sets the tone and makes them feel immediately comfortable and at home. Meet Dr. Patricia Morgan, Medical Director. The Pediatric Resource Center and Pat's Place are located under 1 roof. "There is such enhanced communication by being in the same location," says Dr. Morgan. "When partner agencies like law enforcement and child protective services are on site, we ask questions of each other because we know each other so we'll and have such respect for one another. Meet Adam Levine, Child & Family Traumatic Stress Intervention Program (CFTSI) Therapist. "Together we collaborate on identifying a child and family's symptoms and reactions to trauma and promoting creative coping strategies. The Pat's Place family advocates align with us throughout the entire process by assessing families that they feel may benefit from CFTSI services and then ensuring that the family's needs we're met. Meet Markia Hearst, Famil Advocate. "The great thing about Pat's Place is that we never close cases here. Long after an investigation is over, if a child is exhibiting PTSD symptoms family members are able to call and recurve help, care and guidance," says Markia. "Before Pat's Place children in Mecklenburg County had to travel to one location for their forensic interview then another for their medical exam then another for therapy -Pat's Place is able to provide all of those resources under one roof by coming together with our partners. Meet Jeanne Miller, Chief of Police at The Davidson Police Department. Chief Miller believes Pat's Place offers a victim the opportunity to start to become while again. "Even the most experienced police officer doesn't have the expertise to interview a child sexual assault victim. At Pat's Place their level of training and experience creates the greatest chance for a successful criminal prosecution. If a child sexual assault victim is ever to achiever justice, that journey will begin at pat's place.
