Have you met Corri Smith?

#GothLife. #instabeerupclt. #smCLT.

Hi! Have you met Corri Smith?

Have you ever been to #INSTABEERUPCLT? Well, if not then you are one of the few that have missed out on a great beer drinking, relationship building event put on by Corri and Amy Herman (@VTGCLT).

I ran into Corri professionally at Heist then at NCMF and I knew I had to know what she was all about – so I reached out to her via social media. She was so genuine, easy to talk to, and all about CLT. I am a native Charlottean and meeting people like her seriously… I turn into a kid in a candy store. Corri always has a smile on her face, dressed to the nines (in black of course), and works hard to support the Charlotte we love. ( think I kind of got that backwards… weloveclt)

Corri is involved in just about everything – She’s #gothsuperwoman. I admire her for keeping up with her schedule and still making time for the things that matter. She supports local artists and always makes time for the community (she supports Cystic Fibrosis and other charities through her events). She’s a social media maven and uses it to help support events and issues that matter to her. She has also decided to take a huge jump forward in her career recently and launch @BWSocialCo.

I’ll stop talking now and let Corri verify for herself why she’e so awesome then you can come to the next #instabeerupclt and meet her yourself if you haven’t already.

I asked her 6 questions. Her answers are below her picture.

What motivates you?

I have a passion for people and connecting them. I am motivated by knowing I can make a difference in the lives of others, each and every day.

What does your perfect day look like?

Is there such a thing? I am truly living the dream of owning my own business. My perfect day involves some work, something delicious to eat, seeing friends and probably a (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) show at the end!

I have one weekend in Charlotte… where are you taking me? Why?

I’ll take you for: a walk around the USNWC, a charcuterie board at Customshop, a brewery tour, a cup of coffee at the Daily Press, a view of the latest art show at Gallery 22, a dance fest at Snug Harbor, sushi at Rusan’s and hopefully a rad show at The Fillmore or The Vis. There are so many pockets of goodness in this city, I think this covers a few of my favorite neighborhoods

How can people turn old fashioned networking into relationship building?

Is this a trick question? COME TO #INSTABEERUPCLT! No, but seriously, put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to meet new people. Charlotte is a small world and you’re bound to run into each other again anyways. Oh and did I mention #instabeerupclt? Check out the hashtag and come hang with us at Sugar Creek on 8/27.

What is Charlotte missing?

Charlotte is missing more people who DO. We need more people who want to serve as change agents to better our beautiful city.

Sara Beth Jones wants to know why you love Charlotte?

I love the people. I’ve been fortunate to meet some truly brilliant and fantastic humans that continue to inspire and excite me on a consistent basis.
