Have you met Cece Stronach?

#RuminateCLT. Join her at Free Range Brewing this Friday. Details here.

Hi! Have you met Cece Stronach?

To me she is one of the most important people that has interacted with #weloveclt. Cece is full-blown proof that embracing the opportunity to meet people IRL, make a connection and execute on the potential collaborations can bring bigger, better, more awesome things. She get’s things done.

The way we met was one for the #weloveclt history books. I’ve met a ton of people since starting this and it easily stands as the most memorable.  Read Cece’s account of our first meeting to the right or below.

At the end of our first meeting I left her with an open invitation to join me for the next speaker series event. A week later she showed up and engaged the event like I always hoped everyone would. I distinctly remember a tweet she put out that night. “I think I’ve found my people.” Since then I’ve witnessed Cece continue to develop those new relationships and utilize social media to push forward even more IRL interactions.

In one of her answers below she talks about spreading herself to thin getting involved with too many things. I’d say that comes from her wanting to support anything and everything. She can and will be your biggest cheerleader. Charlotte is lucky to have her. She’s one to watch.

#weloveclt, projects and all that aside the best part about our chance meeting is that I’ve gained a very close and trusted friend. Her feedback, guidance and positive outlook on all the things has been a continued to play a big part in many of the things I’m involved with. I hope more people will be as open as she was to meeting someone new, even if it might be a little awkward. No one is to big or small to hang with her. So go meet her. She’s awesome.

I asked Cece 6 questions. Her answers are below.Save

Cece recounts our first meeting.

Garrett was halfway out the door at Starbucks as he back tracked to interrupt my music and workflow. Garrett introduced himself, “I’m sorry you look just like my friend Corley, and she just tweeted me back saying she was not here at Starbucks. Instead of being ultimate creep…. I thought I should just ask if I could take a picture to show her I found her doppelganger.”

I had never tweeted before and having just met Garrett, I had no idea WHO he was or had heard about #WeLoveCLT at that point, but stranger things have happened to me and I replied with “Yeah, Let’s do this!! We can take a selfie as long as you make me twitter famous!” So we snapped that creeper Starbucks selfie and less than five minutes later my phone was blowing up because Garrett had found my dusty, unused twitter account (@cecestronach)… and the rest is history in the making.

The creeper Starbucks selfie.

What are you most passionate about?

My biggest passion is creativity and trying to evolve the way we approach, encourage and identify creativity. I want to show people that it can be found in ways other than the fine arts. It could be dream interpretation or let’s say, Post it Goats. That type of creative collaboration is very important to me.

What frustrates you?

I’m pretty even keeled. Something that would make me mad is, oh gosh, maybe if I had an injury and I couldn’t ride my bike. That’s the only thing that I can think of.

What is your least favorite trait about yourself?

Oh man, I don’t know. Hmm. There’s multiple things that are coming to mind {laughs}. Maybe that I spread myself thin too often. I get really involved in multiple things and lose my ability to focus on the things that are most important. I’ve definitely gone a little too far with things that aren’t that important.

What is your greatest indulgence?

{yells} PEANUT BUTTER! and maybe cookies. I’m known for being a cooke person, and donuts. Yes. Donuts. During the holidays when I’m home with my family they are constantly hiding cookies from me. Now my moms sending me t-shirts with donuts on it. I’m going to be known for the donut biker.

What do you think is missing from Charlotte?

A bigger community of commuter cyclists. It’s a different lifestyle. We already have some cool bike culture established but a lot of it’s athletic and then there’s a social side to it. There’s definitely not a lot of commuters.

If you could be a food item what would it be and why?

I would probably be a cupcake. Everyone loves cupcakes, right? You can be so many different varieties cake and frosting flavors.

What’s your favorite breakfast?

Waffles, eggs, avocado with salsa.
